Frequently Asked Questions - Talk Therapy
How does MindBody Therapy differ from traditional talk/mental health therapy?
So often, the body is left out of the therapy room in an effort to prioritize the inner workings of the mind. By including an exploration of how the body is participating in the navigation of concerns or challenges, an entirely new pathway of healing, strength, and -most importantly – understanding becomes available to you.
Can I use my insurance for this service?
For the remainder of 2024, MindBody Therapy will be a self-pay service, available at $35 per session, as the practicum/internship portion of our facilitator Kristen’s Master’s program.
What is the background of your MindBody Therapy facilitator, Kristen?
Kristen has a BA in Theater Performance and has worked as a yoga instructor since 2014 with a specialization in Restorative Yoga. She has been with Elle since 2018 and is now pursuing her Master’s of Science in Counseling, graduating this December of 2024.
What are the available times and days of the week for MindBody Therapy sessions?
MindBody Therapy sessions are offered Monday-Friday. Kristen will be able to provide you with more specific details about her current availability once you connect through our inquiry form.
How many sessions should I engage in to experience the optimal benefits of this service?
Just like talk therapy, this question is best determined after an initial intake session with your provider. During this first session, you will have the opportunity to talk through your reasons for seeking support, as well as ask questions of your provider. This is also the time in which your provider can get a sense of what kind of treatment trajectory they might develop for you, including but not limited to, frequency of sessions and anticipated timeline. It is strongly recommended to participate in at least three sessions (including the intake) before determining if this style of therapy is beneficial, or if you would prefer to transfer to a traditional talk therapist.
