What can I expect in working with Erica for acupuncture services?

Initial Visit: Your acupuncture treatment is completely individualized and tailored to your needs. Erica will conduct a full health and wellness history in this 90 minute consultation and provide an initial acupuncture treatment to begin working on your areas of concern.

Follow up visits: Sessions are 60 minutes long and may include your choice of enhancement:

  • Cupping is suctioning silicone cups to the skin and gliding them around the body. Cupping is understood to promote free flow of the lymphatic, blood and vital energy systems in the body. This therapy may offer relief to those experiencing physical symptoms such as arthritis or joint issues, cold/sickness and insomnia to digestive and skin concerns. *Most effective in combination with acupuncture but can be used alone.
  • Gua Sha (“gwah shah”) is a small, weighted hand-held tool that is stroked along oiled skin. Gua Sha is understood to relieve the heat and tightness that causes pain in the body. This therapy may offer relief to those experiencing physical symptoms ranging from low muscle mobility and function, chronic pain, injury or lingering colds and perimenopausal symptoms to scar and fascial tissue adhesions. ‘Sha’ is Chinese for a red or purple discoloration of the skin’s surface that may last one day, up to one week, after this therapy. *Best used in combination with acupuncture.
  • Tui Na (“twee nah/tway naw”) is rhythmic compression pressures such as kneading, rubbing, tapping and shaking acupressure points along the energy channels. Tui Na is understood to release stagnant or lethargic energy. This therapy may offer relief to those experiencing physical symptoms ranging from stubborn musculoskeletal issues (i.e. frozen shoulder, spinal misalignment) to lymphatic and immunological disorders. *Most effective in combination with acupuncture but can be used alone.
  • Aromatherapy is the distillation of either a flower’s blossom, root, seed and leaf “essential” oil that is applied to the skin with a carrier oil such as coconut or grapeseed. Depending on your goal, essential oils may be applied topically or diffused during your session. and may offer relief from physical symptoms associated with stress and suffering. *These are highly scented and applied topically. Allergic sensitivities may apply.
  • Flower Essence is water that is understood to hold the healing energy and powers of a flower’s blossom. Flower Essence is applied to the skin prior to your acupuncture application and may aid in healing the underlying sources of your stress and suffering.
  • Energy Work is one of our touch-free therapies. A trained practitioner hovers her hands over the body with the intention of creating a balance between hyperactive and lethargic stagnancies. It is understood in this alternative healing therapy that energy work helps you reach your potential and experience a sense of fulfillment. It is understood in this alternative healing therapy, which is commonly known as Reiki, that energy work helps you reach your potential and experience a sense of fulfillment.

Does Erica accept insurance?

No. But we are happy to provide a Superbill that you can use with your insurance company to potentially receive a reimbursement from them.
